The Choice is Yours


Speech quivers on my lips,


But I keep silent.


Tears quiver on my lashes,


But my cheeks stay dry.


Emotions tumble through my heart,


But my walls hide the pain.


 


I will not ask you to stay.


I will not ask you to go.


You must decide where you belong.


You must choose me or the road.


 


I am lost each time you touch me.


Your kiss sears my heart with the heat of your love.


I will be there for you whenever you need me.


I will stand in the shadows and watch from afar if you send me away.


 


You will be forever in my heart.


I will always love you.


But I will not, can not make you love me.
