Thoughts for my neighbor...

If everyone could send a happy thought or some healing energy to my neighbor, Becky, I would be very grateful.

A little background...

Becky has about 7-8 kids..I can't remember, lol...and she had a tubal ligation done. About 2 or 3 months ago, she started showing pregnancy signs. She had a full work up done, and according to ultrasounds and everything else, she wasn't pregnant, but according to her hcg (preggy hormone) levels, she was. Well, they started by doing surgury and removed one of her ovaries. For a bit, the hcg levels came down, but then they skyrocketed again.

More ultrasounds and tests later, they figured she just had a bit of tissue in her uterus that was triggering the false positive. Ok, so they DNCed her. For all you guys..that's basically where they take a vaccum and ________. Yup, you guessed it. It's rather painful. Well, this did nothing, so they did more tests.

Finally, about 2 weeks ago, they went ahead and performed a total hysterectomy on her removing her uterus and remaining ovary. She spent a week not being able to move, tore her drain (a small hole in the skin they leave open for drainage, obviously), and generally felt like crap. Her hcg level has dropped a bit, but not to where it's supposed to be. If it doesn't come down by the end of the month, they are going to start her on chemotherapy.

She is very scared about this, and I know she could use all the warm thoughts and healing energy anyone can muster sent her way....even if she doesn't know about it.

Anyway...thanks for taking the time to read this, and hopefully she'll be much better soon...WITHOUT CHEMO!

Heidi

Unfortunately she has found out that she has to have chemo. Let's hope she needs very little of it and the problem is resolved quickly.

I am so very sorry to hear about your neighbor..I can understand how she feels, this is a scary thing for a person to go thru; but I am glad that she has wonderful friends and neighbors as you guys.

Without a doubt, I will be keeping her in my prayers and my thoughts. I have a candle lit for her here at home and I am on my way to light one on the Candle area as well.....

She may not be aware of everyones presence, but I am sure she is aware of everyones love and compassion...

Well, my neighbor went through light chemo to try and bring her HCG levels down, but unfortunately it didn't work.

Tomorrow she goes in to get a port put into her chest, and then she is going to start major chemotherapy. This is what we were hoping wouldn't happen, but the doctors (who can't even find a hint of a tumor, I might add) feel it's best if they just start major chemo. She is very upset by this and very depressed.

Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers in hopes that she will not have to endure this long. We're hopeful that this will come to a good and healthy end for her.

If it helps anyone, her name is Becky.

Woohoo!

It took a little bit of strong chemo, but it appears my neighbor is well on her way back to better health!

Her HCg levels dropped 100 points one day, then it dropped down to 49 points 2 days ago!

Hopefully by the end of the week she'll be down to -0- and this will be all behind her!

Thanks for keeping her in your thoughts everybody!
