Mixed Religion Households

Are there any other pagan parents around here that have raised their children in a mixed religion household, such as Pagan/Christian? I can see how this might pose some problems. My son is a little young yet (almost 15 months) but it won't be long before he starts verbal communication. I have a nephew that started Christian daycare before this age and they were teaching him there through songs and books. He is five now and can tell you all about Jesus through fact (doesn't relaly understand much of course). I want to teach my son both traditions. Are there any good pagan books for children or maybe someone has a good way I can start communication when my son is ready?

hi amy this ones right up my path,my maternal grandmother was a witch, paternal grandmother a practicing catholic,i went to catholic school, and as my maternal nana lived with us i learned the tarot and how to channel energy at an early age, there was never any confusion , i realised the two things were seperate but at the same time part of a whole. no one in the family made a big deal of any of it it was just treated as a part of life, just take things one day at a time and dont make too much of any of it, answer your little boys questions when he asks honestly and simply, and things should be fine

Greetings...

My house to is a mixed faith home. I am ecclectic celtic pagan, and my husband is thiestic satanist. We currently are not having issues with our younger children, but our 11yr old sone has begun his studies. We believe that religion is a personal choice, that should be made in wisdom, and with knowledge. Therefore we provide as much support, and materials to our son as possible. We keep fun activities, such as christian and pagan coloring and activity books. Which tend to get used for rainy day activities. As well as books on various paths. And a complete set of bibles, Christian, witches, satanic, ect. Our son has been studying for about 2 yrs now, and has so far studied christianity and buddhism. We try to be as supportive as we can in his quest for knowledge and where he belongs. We drive him to and from churches, we provide as accurate as answers to his questions as possible. If we dont know the answer to the question, we research it. And we try to supply him with any materials he may need for his studies. We however do not force him to study. It is all done when and how he wants. We believe that spirituality is something that should not be forced, or he will devolpe a distaste for it, and abandon it all. So far this has worked well for us, as we know he is showing interest, and is taking time to look at all aspects to make a wise desicion or develop his own belief system. After all, all we ask for is that he is happy and comfortable in his spirituality.
