Almost exclusively, when someone is caught doing something they should not be doing they quickly attempt to lay the blame on someone or something else. In Satanism, this is known as “The devil made me do it” mentality.
One of the most important philosophies in Satanism is “Responsibility to the Responsible” The ability to take responsibility for ones own actions and furthermore to learn from the outcome of those actions. Anyone can admit to being wrong but, if they again repeat the same mistake over and over, they have not truly become accountable. Most likely (even if they didn’t say it out loud) they have in fact put the blame on someone or something, justifying it within themselves so that when they do it again they are again not to blame.
The TRUE Satanist does not put the blame on others when he/she is at fault. They will admit to their mistake and resolve to not make that mistake again. There are a couple of reasons for this.
Satanists are not ashamed of who they are and are certainly not out to impress anyone except themselves. Simply put, we do not care if you like us. IF you like us we are grateful for friendship and will return what is given. However, if you choose to not like us, we will not lose any sleep over it. It takes courage to admit your wrongs and Satanist pride themselves on their courage. So do not rub it in to deep when we face the music, otherwise you may not enjoy the next song played. :D IF a Satanist apologizes, you can bank on their sincerity.
Responsibility to the Responsible does not always have to do with being wrong.. Many times it has to do with being right. It is the mark of a True Satanist to give credit where credit is due. To many times someone’s bright idea isn’t their own but, because some people lack the inability to think for themselves, they mirror someone else’s words and actions in order to make themselves look better or more intelligent than they are. Many times this is because the person has little feeling of self worth and therefore must become someone else whom they look up to or admire. But, paradoxically, they usually end up belittling the person they received their bright idea from in the first place. Again to make themselves look better, but also to feel better about what they’ve done. Satanists give their source, and we expect the same in return.
No one is perfect, and no matter how responsible they are, they will at one point or another betray those responsibilities in some fashion. It is simply a matter of whether or not that person is willing to own up to it.
