Dragons

I was asked by one of my girls are dragons real? my reply was yes....but then i started thinking.

Yes they are real, in as much as there are creatures that could be described as dragons, Kimono for example, but mabey we should look at dragons as being more symbolic, symbolic of those forces created by nature.

The Chinese have several types of Dragons within there culture these tend to be aqumalations (tried 3 times , still cant spell that word) of Chi or if you like natural power, Here in England Dragons are also used to represent power, be it natural, or Kingly or of a Nation they have been described over the years as being portents of the future.

So as i say , Dragons are real......as for silly Knights with Red Crosses on there Sheilds, .....I'll let you figure out where I stand on that one, lol

 Blessed Be

I just was thinking about this again. I remembered reading Dancing with Dragons by DJ Conway. Most of the time, I was rather detached, as I don't believe in dragons per se, but then neither do I believe in faeries but I read A Witch's Guide to Faery Folk by Edain McCoy.

I think these elemental 'forces' reveal themselves to us in whatever way we are best able to perceive. So I don't believe in faeries or dragons, then maybe it'll appear to me as shadowy figures, or even like ghosts (this has happened). So maybe all the forms are real, it's just the people who perceive it one way or the other.

I've been thinking,...yes i know thats hard to believe, but i have....does anyone study feng shwee (i know it's spelt wrong) ?...its the chinese art of working with the elements (sound familiar?)...now, my point..the chinese describe these eliments sometimes as dragons...when you think about it, it's not a bad description, energy moves in waves, much like a serpent or dragon moves..if we can imagin these  enegies moving around the world it would not be to hard to think of them as dragons, and i personaly find it quiet nice to use the analogy of a dragon as a creature of the eliments much as the chinese have been douing for millenia.

On another point, ever noticed how in the far east the dragon is good and in the west (christian) the dragon is viewed as evil?...i wonder if this is because, using the dragon as a symbol of earth power, christian tradition has moved away or against worshiping the earth whereas the eastern religions never have...just a thought.

I thought fung shui was the art of placing your furniture in patterns that didn't restrict the flow of energy?

But yeah, I've also heard the stories of the elemental dragons of Chinese mythology. Here's a good one I found...
