There is a common misconception about Satanism. That they worship the devil, sacrifice animals and babies, have orgies, drink blood, urine and other bodily fluids, etc. etc. When in fact, nothing could be further from the truth. Although there are a small minority who call themselves Satanists, that actually worship Satan, true Satanists do not even acknowledge Satan as a literal being. For to do so would be to acknowledge that Christianity is true and make a conscious decision to rebel against it, thereby condemning yourself to an eternal torment in the fires of hell. This would be counted as stupidity, which I, like them, consider to be the worst sin of all.
In truth, Satanists neither believe in a personal devil or god. And one only need read the Satanic bible to do away with the rumors of animal and child sacrifice. I used to believe, as millions of others do today, that every Halloween an infant is sacrificed to Satan by a group of people wearing black robes. The reason I believed that is because that is what I had always heard in church around Halloween time each year. I know you’ve more than likely heard similar horror stories from multiple sources. But I never stopped to look at what I was being told objectively.
If those stories are true, then why do we not hear about them on the
6 O’clock news? Why are there no bodies or evidence of such things happening? Why doesn’t the FBI have a task force specifically to root out these murderers of infants and bring them to justice? Why do theses people who profess to be the victims of ritual abuse not prosecute those responsible, and better yet, why doesn’t DHS have specific investigators to recognize those types of abuse? The answer is simple: those propagating those stories are full of S****
The truth is, Satanists are life loving people. But because of the name of their religion, they have been considered taboo and have been the object of ridicule and ignorance ever since The Church of Satan was founded by Anton Szandor LaVey in 1966( which was not the beginning of Satanism, but certainly brought it out of the closet). Although there are small areas of Satanism that I disagree with, for the most part I believe that LaVey was a misunderstood genius and far ahead of his time. In a nut shell, Satan in Satanism, is nothing more than the title to their philosophy. Only by reading their literature can you fully understand the logic behind it. But for some who are superstitious, sadly, that will be impossible.
What is it about the name of Satan that offends so much? I have talked to countless pagans who totally dismiss the Christian teachings, that will not even consider reading the Satanic Bible. This is largely due to the propaganda produced by Christianity against Satanism that has been shoved down the throats of the American population. They have riddled the public with fear and ignorance concerning Satanism, and the media is no help either. For whenever Satanism is shown in the media, it is always in a fearful light and portrays it as a cult that kills people and animals in ceremonial robes all the while chanting “evil” sounding incantations. But for the non-superstitious it should be no hard thing to read the Satanic literature in order to dispel the stigma that has been put upon Satanism. After all, how can one disagree with something that they have never read or heard the truth about?
The Christian says to the Satanist; why do you worship Satan? The Satanist replies, I don’t. The Christian asks; do you worship god? The Satanist replies, no I do not worship god. The Christian say; if you do not worship god then you worship Satan! If this is true, then every religion that is not Christian is satanic and all are doomed to hell. This I know by experience for I used to be one of them.
It wasn’t until having converted to Wicca that I even considered reading the Satanic bible and still, because of the ingrained fear that had been pressed upon me, I was hesitant to read it at all. But eventually I reasoned with myself: If it isn’t true, what shall I fear by reading it? If I am afraid of reading it, then I am not secure in my beliefs and should question my sincerity. Shortly after reading the entire text of the Satanic bible, I decided I was no longer a Wiccan. I decided that I would claim Satanism as my primary doctrine and still to this day hold to 90% of their teachings.
As I said before, one only need read the Satanic bible to put away those fears and doubts. And for further clarification I suggest visiting this web site for quick reference to the 11 satanic rules of the earth:
For herein are the most basic rules according to Satanism that should at a glance remove many of the stigmas about Satanism.
One must reason with him/her self: If what I have been taught to believe is true, then reading the Satanic literature will confirm what I have been told. If reading Satanic literature does not substantiate what I have been taught, then it is my job to expose the people who have lied to me and are lying to countless thousands every day. If I were a white supremacy activist, you would no doubt have zero hesitation in exposing me as a liar. Why should it be any different when dealing with a lie that others are propagating? One of the things I hate the most is a coward. But the worst kind of coward is the one who, because they are afraid of being wrong, will not even hear or consider the other side of the argument.
Conclusion: Why fear what is not true, for what harm can fiction do if it is known to be fictitious? And if you find it to be true, do not despair. Nay, rejoice!! For you have found what many lack. TRUTH.
My gratitude to CEPF for making this forum available.
